24th Feb 2008 Painswick v Cheltenham

Report By Hugh Wilkinson

Cheltenham Tigers 15 - Painswick 0

Cheltenham Tigers played Painswick on Sunday and won convincingly, 15-0. The scrum worked hard in the first half and tries were scored by Alex Chalkin and Callum Dean. There was ill discipline towards the end of the first half and Cheltenham gave away three penalties when in good scoring positions. The second half proved a closer affair but a solo run from scrum half Max Sayer-Martin secured the winning try for Cheltenham.

Cheltenham are now looking forward to the County Cup and if they are to proceed to the final stages of the Tournament, they will need to be disciplined and not give away cheap penalties.

Cheltenham Panthers 12 - Painswick 7

Cheltenham Panthers played a good and tight game against Painswick and tries were scored by Red Blaylock and Henry Taylor. This was a good team performance with a lot of good rucking and mauling. They can be pleased with this good result and the endeavours of their hard work in
training. Painswick scored a try at the end which they converted.
Panthers also have their sights set on a good County Cup run and their coaches were particularly pleased with this team effort in their final warm-up game.
